The Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ Dips into the 10th Annual Chocolate Show

NEW YORK, NY, OCTOBER 23, 2007 — Decadent. Dreamy. Creamy. What can be better than a weekend dedicated entirely to chocolate? The pastry & baking Arts division of The Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ (ICE®) is once again gearing up for several delicious days of demonstrations, special recreational classes and participation in the annual Chocolate Fashion Show, as part of New York's Chocolate Show taking place at The Metropolitan Pavilion & Altman Building (125 West 18th Street) from November 8th through the 11th.

The Fashion Show
The Chocolate Show kicks off with an opening night preview party and Chocolate Fashion Show to benefit City Harvest on Thursday, November 8th. ICE® Chef-Instructors Michelle Tampakis and Faith Drobbin will dazzle the runway for the fourth consecutive year with a fashion chocolate creation that is both wearable and edible. Their Indian-themed sari will be made of cocoa nibs, isomart drops and piped chocolate. The look will be complete with authentic "mendhi," substituting chocolate for traditional henna.

Demonstrations
The Chocolate Show will run a series of one-hour demos featuring leading pastry chefs and authors within their two on-site mini-theaters. ICE® Chef-Instructor and Center for Advanced Pastry Studies (CAPS) Director, Michelle Tampakis will perform a chocolate tempering demo on November 9th at 3:30pm, in addition to ICE® alumna Gina DePalma of Babbo who will demo at 1pm. On November 10th at 12noon, ICE® Director of Baking Programs and noted cookbook author, Nick Malgieri will be baking a French chocolate walnut tart scented with orange zest, all in a walnut pastry crust.
