When it comes to buzzworthy pizza in New York City, few pie-slingers have achieved a cult following as quickly as Culinary Arts alum Matt Hyland. After putting in time at some of the city’s hottest pizza havens (including Roberta’s) Matt opened his first restaurant, , in 2014—and has been racking up accolades ever since. Emily has been featured in publications including Saveur,New York Magazine, Tasting Table, Eater, Food & Wine, and the Village Voice.
What’s more—keeping his eyes on the pies—Matt recently announced he will be opening a second restaurant, , focused on his version of Detroit-style square slices. If there’s one thing we know about this ICE alum, it’s that he’s sure to keep defying our expectations—and thrilling our taste buds—time and time again.
